Supporting New Research: Exploring Masculinities to End Violence Against Women and Girls

At the Female Sports Forum, we want to share whenever great research is being done. Currently a project led by Queen’s University Belfast and commissioned by The Executive Office aims to understand how young men and boys in Northern Ireland view masculinity and their attitudes towards violence against women and girls (VAWG).

To create meaningful, lasting change, we must engage everyone — and that includes listening to the voices of men and boys. This research will explore how we can better support young men, shift damaging cultural norms, and stop violence before it starts.

If you work with young men in Northern Ireland, this is your opportunity to help shape future policy and practice. Participants will be asked to take part in a one-hour interview (online or in person), discussing their experiences and perspectives.

By contributing, you’ll help ensure that young men’s voices are not only included, but heard — and that together, we create a safer, more equitable future for women and girls.

Together, we can challenge harmful attitudes, change behaviours, and help end violence against women and girls.
